SafeRack Storage System Safety Audit Training Program
If your business warehouse contains an industrial storage or racking system, as an employer and owner, you are obligated to comply with the equipment maintenance requirements within your provincial legislation.
The SafeRack Storage System Safety Audit Training Program is a comprehensive training program for Joint Health & Safety Committee Members (JHSC), or any employee, tasked with performing workplace inspections.
We are committed to educating Canadian industrial business owners to:
- Properly inspect industrial storage systems
- Systematically identify visible signs of component damage
- Accurately recommend replacement, repair, or corrective action for damaged storage systems, and
- Effectively investigate employee interaction with warehouse systems
Conducting a SafeRack Storage System Safety Audit not only protects your business and employees, it could help defend against or mitigate legal challenges from regulatory bodies should an accident occur.
An internal periodic rack inspection program that monitors unusual behavior / conditions of the rack or shelving system establishes that due diligence was exercised in the maintenance of the storage system.
Course Description
The SafeRack Storage System Safety Audit Training Program is a full day of classroom instruction along with both a written and practical test that together provide a comprehensive review of :
- Current applicable design and installation standards
- Various types of storage systems, lift trucks, pallets
- Basic safety design strategies
- Potential rack hazards
- Rack damage identification, and
- Hazard classifications
We will introduce examples of audit codes, specifications and procedures to the attendees, and award certificates recognizing the successful completion of both a written and practical test.
The program will provide the resources needed to perform a basic storage system safety audit. The attendees will be able to produce a clear and concise report, based on audit codes, regarding the general condition of various possible storage systems.
The final report, ultimately submitted and retained by the Joint Health and Safety Committee, will present recommendations such as continued monitoring, replacement or repair to address deficiencies of the storage system.
The SafeRack Training Program is primarily carried out at our training centre, where class size is kept to a maximum of 10 participants. We offer both open public, and private courses. A controlled environment, containing a variety of storage systems with specially damaged components representing the specifications covered is located on site for use during the practical hands-on testing.; Training can be arranged at your facility when required (contact us for pricing).
